Preschool art can incorporate science and engineering. Your child will be problem-solving, creating, exploring, and more. This activity is great for helping children connect the dots, problem solve, think creatively, and be innovative.
Age:
3 and up
What you need:
- Colored construction paper
- White paper
- Glue
- Marker and/or Crayon
How to:
1. On a piece of paper draw two circles of the same color. Do this for as many pairs as you would like to have on the paper. For younger children, I suggest keeping it simple and having 3 pairs of circles: two red, two blue, and two green. For older children, you can make it more challenging and make more.
2. Then cut strips of paper the same colors as the circle you drew on the paper.
3. Give your child strips of paper with a glue stick. Have them match colors by gluing one end of the strip to the same color circle and matching it to another circle of the same color. Ex: a blue strip of paper, one end of the strip to one blue circle and the other end to another blue circle. This will create fun art with texture and depth.
Objective:
Children will work on fine motor skills, concentration, and matching. The result is a fun masterpiece they will be proud of.
